Important Announcement:

GOOD NEWS on the OGL front. As of 27 January 2023, it looks like Hasbro/WOTC has completely backed down. The OGL looks to remain in effect and future D&D SRD will be under a Creative Commons license. Personally, I suggest everyone who can move away from the OGL as corporations (IMHO, naturally) are some of the least trustworthy entities on the planet when it comes to actually keeping their word, especially long term.

Thursday Night Virtual Happy Hour

Hello all. Thursday nights I sometimes offer an online Virtual Happy Hour on my Webex. This Thursday, March 16, 2023, I am also going to test out a new game I found involving a simulation of a 'staff' meeting. If you are interested, pm me to let me know and give me your email. I will add you to the ...

T.W.O. RPG DONE

T.W.O. RPG with its supplements is now done. The goal was to create a non-OGL set of light rules compatible with 3.5 stuff. It is published under the most open Creative Commons license, so feel free to use it as you see fit. Comments and suggestions are of course welcome! https://www.bozbat.com/lite...

I know what the guy was trying to say, but sadly he rolled a nat 1 on his Persuasion check. Again.

I listened to what he said in full, and I suspect he said exactly what he wanted to say. Lots of people say horrible things because they are horrible people who want to say horrible things.

Re: WotC, the OGL 1.*, and SRD 3.*

New draft of the OGL is out. If only that had been what they released in the first place. Core mechanics (as explicitly cited by page numbers from the 5.1 SRD) licensed CC 4.0, basically only "product identity" (spell names, beholdera, etc.) subject to OGL. I'd like to think 1.1 wa...

License? We don't need no stinkin' license!

https://www.bozbat.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/treasureofsierramdre-license.jpg There is a lot of confusion about Wizards of the Coast, Inc. (WotC) and the Open Game License (OGL). Some people seem to think that if you make a game that is in any way similar to products made by WotC, or some othe...

Re: ATRIM - Rules light and CC BY SA

That is true, @squirewaldo! Just gotta balance that fine line between promotion and spamming :D Yeah, and some people have a ridiculous definition of spamming. If you are posting content that is appropriate and you don't over post it, I don't see a problem. But some people have this idea that any p...

Yeah, I know I'm going a bit heavy on the self-promotion for this, @quaffeine , but I think it's kinda neat! I hope you think so too, thanks for checking it out :)

If you don't promote it, no one else will! I don't see how there is anything wrong with that.
