On Randall's advice, I am using Microlite81 and I think I will adopt Heartseeker by Trollish Delver games for a really easy start and slowly blend in extra rules and spells from M81 as we progress. Any thoughts or suggestions about this idea are welcome.

Welcome! I'm not familiar with Heartseeker. What do you like about it? There are so many "sure-short" game systems out there I can't keep up. :(

Hi Randall, Heartseeker is here https://trollish-delver-games.itch.io/heartseeker
What I like about is it's ultralight, which means I can read it in my lunch break and have a (very) basic system in place for an RPG game with my family. With that said, I do love at least a little bit of depth and crunch, especially for magic, monsters and classes, so I want to blend in some Microlite. By the way, I just put a few dollars your way on Drivethru.

Thank you! I just picked up a copy for my collection of RL games.

Not necessary, but always appreciated.
